Friends remember Tiny Tim

Here you will find photographs and memories of Poem written by Lou Robino's friend, Bob Pontes, who with my uncle corresponded with Tiny. It was recently published in the Taunton (MA) Daily Gazette. Shown as written by Bob.

HIS TALENTS AND DREAMS ARE GONE WITH HIM

A man's visions, talents and dreams
Now only on tapes and in a box
Songs and stories for kids and adults
Sung and recited
And no one to hear them but me.

So many great songs no one will ever hear
Or make it to a jukebox
Only for me being heard and unboxed.

All the talent, wisdom, and feelings
Showing in his songs
Sung with only his guitar to accompany him
Great enough to touch the heart
And get down to your soul
But it's too late for fame or to have any one of his songs
On the charts where they surely belong.

Still here I'm enjoying and listening to them thinking
What a shame it is that my friend Lou Robino
Died before the world had ever heard
Or listened to his unique singing voice
Singing the love he had for others he put into words.

Again I'll say how sad all these stories and songs
Are lost forever wasted and now gone with him
For now the world will never hear or know
Any of his work or how talented he was.

Now writing this I still can't get over the waste
Of a man's life and his life-long dream
Both dying together and lost with the times.

Never by anyone but a few close friends and me
His songs to be heard
Or his songwriting dreams
By him ever to be seen.

BOB PONTES
