TV OFFBEAT
TINY TIM will be able to tiptoe through the tulips -literally-when he and Victoria May Budinger
become man and wife Wednesday evening on NBC's Tonight show.
Tiny and Vicki will be married in the midst of 10,000 freshly cut tulips and thousands of other
flowers supplied for the occasion.
As you probably know, tulips are pretty scarce around these parts this time of year. The Tonight show
ordered the flowers directly from Holland. They will be shipped here by air just before the wedding.
WHILE THE TULIPS will be the main floral display, there will be thousands of other blooms in the
Tonight studio: Roses, carnations, Indian paintbrushes, lilies, laurel, wild grapes, peonies,
poppies, mistletoe, lilacs, clover, black-eyed susans, violets, hisbiscus, magnolias, and, of course,
forget-me-nots.
The studio audience will be made up that evening of only friends and relatives of the bride and
bridegroom. It will be a black-tie, invitation-only affair.
The bride will wear a Victorian-style wedding gown with a three-foot train of off-white peau de soie
with an Empire waist and pleated front. The cost of the gown: $2,500.
Tiny's outfit will cost approximately one-fifth of that. He will wear a black silk velvet
walking-length frock coat, also reflecting the Victorian period.
