Collapse has Tiny Tim pondering retirement
Tiny Tim, whose real name is Herbert Khaury, says his performing days might be over, "except for
singing a brief song here or there."
The 64-year-old ukulele-strumming, falsetto singer of Tip-Toe Thru the Tulips With Me was transferred
Sunday from a Massachusetts hospital to a medical center near his hometown in Minneapolis.
Tiny Tim collapsed Sept. 28 on the stage of Montague Grange Hall as he was about to open his act. He
has been treated for what doctors believe was a heart attack.
But his wife, Susan Khaury, says, "The doctor here is not convinced he had a heart attack at all."
She attributes the collapse to 36 hours of not eating or sleeping before his scheduled performance.
